We live in a beautiful world. Sometimes, we forget that. No surprises there; life has its challenges.
But this world is beautiful – in the things we see, hear, feel, and taste, we sometimes experience life in much of its charm and wonder. And even in the difficult moments, we can still get a glimpse of the beauty of life.
This blog attempts to capture the wonders of all such moments. Its title is taken from a wonderful hymn by Robert Grant. I sang it first many years ago, as a child in boarding school. Even back then, I was entranced by Grant’s depiction of the glory of God, and of the marvels of the earth.
The hymn is titled ‘O Worship the King, all glorious above’. It is a favourite in English-speaking churches all over the world.
The blog’s title comes from the following verse:
The earth with its store of wonders untold,
Almighty, Thy power hath founded of old;
hath stablished it fast with a changeless decree,
and round it hath cast, like a mantle, the sea.
What a pleasure to know those words! So thoroughly fitting, so very apt.
And here is a little bit about me:
I am a child of the world, born and raised in diverse countries, in the midst of amazing peoples and cultures. I am delighted every day by life’s little treasures. It is a wonder to seek them; great reward to find them. Now, through this blog, I hope to share them.
